// WHY THE DATE MATTERS
Find the best release date for your Steam game
Your Steam release date is one of the few launch decisions you fully control, and one of the most consequential. Launch the same game one week apart and you can face a completely different wall of competition: a stacked AAA week, a Steam Next Fest stealing every impression, or a seasonal sale burying full-price releases. LaunchThatGame.com is a Steam launch date planner built for indie developers and small publishers who don't have a market-intelligence team.
How the launch window analysis works
We snapshot upcoming Steam releases and their community tags, estimate each game's expected visibility from its Popular Upcoming rank and its publisher's track record, and score every week of your window: tag overlap × hype × date confidence, multiplied by Steam events like Next Fest and the seasonal sales. The result is a week-by-week competition heatmap, the calmest windows to claim, and the exact list of competitors behind every score, including releases that only announced “October 2026” or “Q4 2026”.
Made for the questions indie devs actually ask
When should I launch my roguelike deckbuilder? Is my city builder's week crowded? Should I avoid Steam Next Fest or ride it? Is my game's name already taken on Steam? Set up your game profile once (tags, genre, price, Early Access, multiplayer) and the planner, release calendar, free-slot finder and name checker all answer for your game, not the market in general.
LaunchThatGame works from public Steam Store and SteamSpy data, refreshed by snapshot. No wishlists scraped, no partner data, no guesswork presented as fact. Where dates are fuzzy we say so, and where our coverage thins out we tell you to re-check rather than pretend the horizon is empty.
